How did DTC start?

Here's a quick rundown on how we started in a friend's backyard and grew to a worldwide community of comedians, comedy fans, and venue partners!

We started back in 2017, when our founder Kyle grew tired of having to break the bank to make a fun night out. He loved hosting comedy shows but grew tired of the two-item minimum at popular comedy clubs and bars.  That's why our shows are held in unconventional places, and are designed to feel like an invite-only house party.

Our first show was in a friend's backyard in Los Angeles. A year later we expanded to 15 cities, organizing over 350 shows with some special drop-ins such as Ali Wong at a co-working space and Tom Segura at a record store.

In 2022, we launched our Don’t Tell Comedy Secret Sets on our YouTube channel.

Today, we are in 8 different countries and hold around 120 shows each weekend.
